"So Close.......We deserved a Draw today."

Quorn 2 : 1 Lutterworth Town
Half Time 1 : 0.

We were so close today to getting our first point. We definitely deserved a draw.

One nil down at half time having played against the wind myself and Andy were more than happy. We looked strong in defence and Luke and Charlie looked as if they had always played together as the two centre halves.

Aiden slotted back superbly into his old right back role and Lewis was his usually solid self at left back.

The defence was well organised and Jacob was making sure all were doing their jobs. Jacob had another outstanding game in goal and distributed the ball well with short goal kicks and throw outs.

The team spirit was again superb. There was good communication and talking and the back four and Jacob were playing the high line well.....pushing out every time.

Josh had another solid performance taking a blow to the face in the first half.

In midfield, Ben, Jake, Samuel, Sam, Tommy, Archie and George all played well. Samuel scoring again to give us a lift and battling chance of getting the draw in the last 15 minutes.
In the second half, Tommy also played well at left back as well.

Up front, Lewis also had another great game and his speed was always a constant threat to the Quorn defence.

Man of the Match was awarded to two players today; Luke and left back Lewis. Luke had a superb fist game at centre half and not only made some great blocks and tackles but always distributed the ball well. Lewis was again solid and is a hard full back to get past.

Not looking for any excuses but....we were unfortunate that the weather changed. We had battled the wind all first half as well as Quorn....but after a brief rain storm in the second half...... the wind died down!!! So we did not have the advantage that Quorn had had for 45 minutes.

In summary we were very unlucky today..... I even tried playing 12 players in the first half.....I think the alzeimers is creeping in!!!!

With the defence now solid I think the next thing to look at is how we can hold onto the ball for longer periods. By doing so we can then create more chances to win games. This will be the focus of training next Saturday.

Could I again thank all the parents for their support. We have a good following of "PAGS".........Professional footballers have "WAGS" which is wives and girlfriends and we have "PAGS" .....which is parents and grandparents!!!!!!!!

I would also like to thank:
- Andy for his help with today's warm up of the players. Andy will also be helping with training.
- and Mark and Karl for running the line today.

See you all at training on Saturday.

Have a great week.
